Eleanor Patton celebrates 100th Birthday – October 25

Eleanor Patton, a Sun Lakes resident from 1976 to 2016, will turn 100 years old on October 25, 2017. Born and raised in Utica, New York, she attended Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, and married Dale W. Patton in August of 1940. Eleanor and Dale raised four sons, and between 1940 and 1976, lived in Texas, New York, Arizona and Minnesota.
While living in Arizona (1958 to 1963), Eleanor developed the speech therapy program for the Mesa Public Schools. While in Minnesota, she worked as a speech therapist in several school districts before taking a faculty position at St. Cloud State University. Eleanor and Dale initially took residence at Phase 1 in Sun Lakes and in 2000, became one of the first residents at the Renaissance on Riggs Road. Dale passed away in 2003, and Eleanor continued to reside at the Renaissance until 2016. She currently lives at the Brookdale Chandler Regional Assisted Living facility.
Eleanor and Dale were charter members of the Sun Lakes Community Church where Eleanor continues to worship. A birthday celebration is being hosted by her family on October 21.
