Another performance … another full house … another warm and responsive audience. This trend seems to confirm the uplifting attraction of this concert as it becomes a popular Sun Lakes holiday tradition.
Each year, along with the familiar melodies, the Holiday Concert offers new arrangements of traditional songs. This year’s concert also provided a wide variety of solos and ensembles. Bring a Torch, Jeannette, Isabella featured soloists Shirley Mukhar and Tenni Annen. God Rest You Merry Gentlemen included solos by Wes Davis and Jim Redden. A quartet composed of Tom Chase, Wes Davis, Murray Rose and Ron Young sang Mary, Did You Know?
Jack Perin performed his interpretation of Some Children See Him. Wes Davis offered The Birthday of a King. Gene Cline was featured in I’ll Be Home for Christmas and later accompanied by wife Jeannette on The Christmas Song. Shirley Mukhar sang Hallelujah, and Pat Rouse was featured in Grown-Up Christmas List.
The Chorale’s director is Cris Temple-Evans; Performance coordinator and guest director is Bart Evans. Rhythm and special effects were provided by chorale percussionist BJ Van Noy. Concert accompanist was Caroline Brown. MJ Clement provided graphic arts and advertising support, including the all-important and updated street corner signs. Audience applause reaches each of the Chorale’s participants, and all happily share in the success of a performance.

For those who missed this concert, it’s not too early to plan on attending the group’s annual spring concert on Thursday, March 15, 2018. The chorale and its members appreciate the community’s support and look forward to entertaining everyone again in 2018. Happy New Year!
