Bob Armstrong, Publicity
Anticipating the return of our snowbird compatriots from all points north, our indomitable full- (or mostly full) time resident warriors have continued their assault on the links at Palo Verde Country Club. While the course hasn’t exactly been brought to its knees, it does at times resemble a field of battle, and it looks forward to the early October overseeding rest period before the upcoming new season commences.
We are, of course, happy to report the results of the latest Saturday morning activities:
On Saturday, August 11, a 2 Best-Ball contest was won by John Mitchell, Brad Wilson, James Granzow and Jeff Martin, with a score of 103!
On Saturday, August 18, a Scramble was won handily by Jack Hill, Peter Gorman, Tom Jeub and Keith Wilson, with a score of 36-1/4.
On Saturday, August 25, a Modified Select-a-Drive event resulted in a tie! The winners: Daryl Ramseyer, Jim Mottern, Richard Hair and Keith Wilson and Jack Hill, Gary Chadwell, Ken Nelsen and Brad Buell
