The 60 Plus Club is a large not-for-profit club whose sole purpose is to provide fun and entertainment for its members. Dues are $7.50 per person per calendar year. Any individual or married couple, one spouse of which is a minimum of 60 years of age and who is a resident of the southeast Valley is eligible for membership in the club.
Upcoming events;
December 3 – 60 Plus Club annual Holiday Party – IronOaks at Sun Lakes in the Oakwood Country Club Ballroom; the cost is $40 per person. A cash bar will start at 5:00 p.m. and a sit-down dinner will be served at 6:00 p.m. with an entrée choice of either a six ounce filet mignon served with brocollini and au gratin potatoes or a Steelhead Trout served with asparagus and au gratin potatoes. Entrée choice must be given at the time of reservation. A house garden salad, dessert, water, iced tea and coffee is included. The price includes taxes and gratuities. Music will be provided by Thaddeus Rose. Door prizes will be awarded. Tables are assigned for this event. Call Jeanne Russo at 480-802-4286 to reserve space. December 7 – Holiday Pops – Phoenix Symphony. The cost is $74 per person and includes transportation, show and driver’s gratuity. The bus departs Oakwood Arts and Crafts Center parking lot at 1:00 p.m. for the 2:00 p.m. show. The last date for a refund is November 22. Desert Bells Bell Choir and the Phoenix Girls Chorus join over 200 artists in this festive concert of seasonal favorites.
December 30, 2014-January 2, 2015 – annual Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena, California. The cost is $999 per person double; $1,399 per person single occupancy. Some highlights include roundtrip motor coach transportation, three nights’ accommodations at the Hilton Universal City; three buffet breakfasts; private special lunch cruise aboard the Horn Blower Ship Zumbrota; float barn tour, reserved grandstand seats for the Rose Parade; services of a professional tour guide, taxes and gratuities on included items.
