Bill Gates
This past year was dominated with disputes over the presidency. We can expect more of the same in 2020, a presidential election year.
But when it meets Tuesday, Jan. 14, the Restless Minds discussion group will focus on some of the controversial or just plain intriguing non-presidential issues and trends of 2019.
The group meets from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the Sewing Room of Oakwood’s Arts and Crafts Center. Restless Minds is open to all people with inquisitive minds. There are no fees or sign up requirements. Just show up and participate in the discussion.
Discussion leader Bobbie Reed is expecting to raise questions about such diverse topics as comfort/support animals on planes, drones delivering packages to homes, proposed vaping restrictions, cell phone usage (especially among students), and a recently-proposed Arizona law which would require students to say the pledge of allegiance.
Other topics may include the trend, in some communities, away from vaccinating children, and nutritional information on restaurant menus.
