“So many dances to teach and so little time.” I’ve said this many times, but I didn’t realize how true it was until March 13. It seems like forever since I last taught dances to the loyal dancers who stay in Arizona year-round. Plus, “Goodbyes” and “See you next January!” were not said to those who left after we stopped dancing in March.
If everyone was adhering to the medical experts’ directions: “stay home, social distance, and wear masks,” I would be confident with restarting classes on Monday, Sept. 7. However, reopening restaurants, stores, plus protester-crowded gatherings and those ignoring safety directions have made me wonder if we will be able to stay on a schedule followed for 20-plus years.
Hopefully, if everyone would take things seriously again, we plan to restart and welcome new dancers to the Ultra Basics class in the SunBird Ballroom on Monday, Sept. 7 (yes, Labor Day) at 11:30 a.m. for $2. You may register and have your name added to the list of line dancers by calling 480-802-0201 after 10 a.m. Please leave a message: Line Dancing, your name, and your phone number. I block calls on numbers who don’t leave a message.
Come meet the nicest people and learn line dances taught with consistent words. Escape with us from this crazy world and make 2020 a happier new year. God bless line dancing!
