This year has been such a challenge, but there is a light at the end of the tunnel. As we begin to see businesses get back to “normal,” we are excited to announce that the 31st Annual Arizona Classic Jazz Festival is scheduled to happen this November. Mark your calendars for Nov. 5 to Nov. 8 and plan to attend at the Crowne Plaza San Marcos Golf Resort, One San Marcos Place, Chandler, AZ 85225.
Our very own Sun Lakes resident Diana Perez, lead vocalist, and her band, Sentimental Breeze, will be playing Nov. 6, 7, and 8. This six-piece band will bring back wonderful memories from the 30s, 40s, 50s, and 60s, and have you heading to the dance floor. Inclusive of the memorable tunes from the 40s will be a special tribute to all our wonderful veterans for their service and dedication to this country. I am sure these songs will make us all so proud to be an American. Diana plans to share her keyboard talent and vocal skills to do her own special tribute to our frontline healthcare workers, who have so tirelessly and endlessly worked during this COVID-19 pandemic. Not enough can be said to thank both of these groups of people for their unimaginable contributions to humanity.
Diana is very excited to welcome back special guest, Mr. Lynn Roberts, for the second year. He will be playing the saxophone, but is also well known for his musical comedian and impersonator skills, entertaining around the globe for over 30 years.
Diana, with her love of music, is looking forward to playing the keyboard and singing at The Perfect Place, where she donates her time to their adult daycare program. As soon as this facility opens, she can get back and see the familiar faces of those who anxiously look forward to her monthly visits. It brings her heart joy to see them tap their feet and sing along each month.
Jazz Festival tickets can be purchased in advance through Helen Daley, festival director, 480-620-3941 or [email protected].
