Jim Wegman, Publicity
Gentlemen, we have lost another long-time former member. Our friend and fellow golfer, Tom Walmsley, has passed away. Tom was a very pleasant companion for a round of golf. Tom said he always had a good round, because he was on the course with his friends and enjoyed the conversation at breakfast. Tom was one of our oldest members and was active in the league until 2012, at 93 years young. To Mabel, Tom’s wife, and the Walmsley family, we offer our sincere condolences on his passing.
New Members: Thanks to David Mork we have two new members, numbers 65 and 66; Larry Stadler and Jerry Vickery. Jerry is a former Niner returning to us. And, to David Mork, thanks again. Our 67th member has also joined, so welcome Jim Broich.

Welcome Back Luncheon: We held our Welcome Back Luncheon at the Oakwood Clubhouse on November 18, 2014. Joe Sigillo, our Treasurer, ensured that our attendees had a tasty Italian style lunch. President David Peters welcomed our guests, Barbara Solomonson and Gary Vein. These are the folks who get us out every league day. President Peters also provided details regarding the coming golf season, upcoming league events and 2015 elections.
Our new logo designed by league Secretary and working artist Bill Whitely was introduced and attendees agreed it is super! It was good to see Bill up and around again. David Mork, our new webmaster, showcased the new logo and provided all the details about where to have the logo stitched onto your golf clothes. Captain Jim Theobald provided every attendee with a 2015 calendar and made the cookie run once again. Thanks, Jim. Thanks and a tip of the hat to “Fast” Eddie Allen who provided some extra door prizes, hats and golf balls, for a second raffle. The 50/50 winners, Larry Stadler and Jim Wegman left a little richer than when they arrived.
As the year ends, the Executive Board and Chairmen of the Niners wish each of our members and their families a Merry Christmas, a Happy, Healthy New Year and a Happy Hanukkah.
