The dog days of summer may be upon us, but the Desert Artist Club of Sun Lakes meets each Tuesday in the Ceramics Room (A-8) in Cottonwood from 3 to 6 p.m. Our members are artists interested in getting together with other creative members to work on their projects or start something new during these hot summer days. For some of you, bringing a lot of supplies may seem daunting in this heat, so perhaps just a sketchpad and pencils are all you need to get started. We also have many books available for artists to use as reference, so perhaps just come and look for ideas to paint or draw. Art instruction books can be a valuable way to help inspire and give encouragement when an artist needs a bit of a push to get back into the creative spirit or expand ideas for an existing project.
When better weather permits, we will be getting together for a social event. Members, watch for an email regarding time and place. Many of you are taking a break this summer or traveling to cooler climates. Remember to take photos of objects or places to paint or sketch this fall and winter. We look forward to our members returning.
