Steve Ambroso, President, SLIAC
Ciao a tutti! (Hello to everyone!)
Do you like Italian culture, history, and food? Then come and join us on Thursday, Nov. 3, for the Sun Lakes Italian-American Club (SLIAC) dinner/meeting at the Cottonwood San Tan Ballroom. Doors open at 5 p.m. for cash bar and registration, dinner is at 6 p.m., and the program starts at 6:45 p.m. The Nov. 3 program will be two parts:
1. Interactive discussion about favorite local Italian restaurants. What makes them your favorite? Favorite dishes/meals at those restaurants?
2. Interactive Italian Trivia. An annual favorite where your table competes for money against other tables. Do you really know Italian culture and history? Let’s find out and have some fun!
We had 80 members and guests at our October meeting (a 25% increase over our October 2021 meeting). With snowbirds returning, we are planning on 90 to 100 members and guests for the November dinner/meeting. The cost for dinner is $23, and we prefer you pay ahead of the meeting by Zelle or check to avoid delays in person. Email or text me for details.
If you are interested in checking us out, please feel free to attend and pay for your dinner. There are tables available for singles.
If you want to join SLIAC, there is a $15 annual membership. Our club meets monthly until May, 2023. Highlights of the year include our December Christmas Party (with Italian Opera this year) and our March Potluck lunch at Sisk Park with a mini bocce ball tournament.
Looking forward to seeing you on Thursday, Nov. 3. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me at [email protected] or text me at 480-577-9445.
Grazie. A presto. (Thank you. See you soon.)
