Community Foundation Holiday Gala Kicks Off a Season of Giving

Enjoy an elegant, semi-formal dinner and dance with the Greater Sun Lakes Community Foundation on Dec. 18 at the San Tan Ballroom in Cottonwood Country Club. The elegant “Black and White” semi-formal event features a sit-down surf and turf dinner and a cash bar with live music and dancing by Rhythm Edition. Unique raffle baskets and spectacular silent auction items, such as a Palm Springs timeshare, golf packages, wine and bourbon baskets, restaurant and boutique gift cards, a spa package, a quilt, dinner for 8 at Palo Verde, an original painting by a local artist, professional photography, and much more will be featured. The evening is shaping up to be the premier event of the 2022 holiday season. All proceeds from the ticket sales, raffle, and silent auction will go to support the mission of the Foundation, which is “to enhance the quality of life for residents in the Greater Sun Lakes area in the areas of health, education, and culture.”

The Gala doors open at 5 p.m. with the raffle, silent auction, and a cash bar available. Dinner will be served at 5:30 p.m., and music with Rhythm Edition starts at 7 p.m. The $60 ticket price includes tax and tip. More information and tickets are now available at slcommunityfoundation.com. Please contact the Holiday Gala Chairperson Renee Seifert at [email protected] if you want to help support the Gala or have specific questions about the event.

As the Foundation is expanding our grant awards and increasing our impact in Sun Lakes, we are searching for people who share our mission and want to be involved. There are several ways for you to get involved. Gather your friends, buy tickets, and enjoy a lovely evening at the Gala. Donate a raffle basket or silent auction item to help raise funds for our grants to local organizations. Or join our efforts firsthand. We have a very active and fun “Friends” group that pitches in at events like the Gala or the TAD concerts where we sell 50/50 tickets. Other Friends help design table decorations for events or take photographs to capture our activities and community grant awards. Others design media communications and flyers for advertising events. Lastly, if you are interested in becoming a Foundation board member, contact the Foundation’s president, Richard Hawkes, to complete an application form and go through the interview process. Richard can be reached at [email protected].
