Karen is teeing up on a par 4 and is not feeling confident at all, so she gets out one of her old balls. As she is teeing up, she hears a voice, “Karen,” it says, “use the good ball.” Karen looks around, thinks for a minute, then decides to go with her inner voice. As she’s getting her stance ready to tee off, she hears the voice, “Karen, wait,” it says, “take a practice swing.” She takes a couple of practice swings and steps forward to tee off. She waits for a few seconds, then again she hears the voice, “Karen, use the old ball.”
On March 7 the game was Texas Scramble, and the winning foursome was Wanda Chihak, Kathleen Mlynarczyk, Karen Miller, and Beverly Jur. Coming in second were Lavonne Mensink, Rosemary King, Ardyce Gibson, and Celeste Dorsey, and coming in third were Trudy Mathison, Gina Long, Lynn Turnquist, and Fran Kleinsteuber.
On March 14 the game of the day was Low Net-Non Water Holes. The winner in Flight 1 was Susan Geis, with Joanne Jenkins coming in second, and Rosie Raisanen coming in third. In Flight 2 the winner was Paula Lovelett, with Lavonne Mensink coming in second, and Rosemary King coming in third. In Flight 3 the winner was Cheryl Kern, with Jackie Aagaard coming in second, and Lynn Turnquist coming in third.
On March 21 the game of the day was Blind Holes. The winner in Flight 1 was Susan Geis, with Trudy Mathison coming in second, and Wanda Chihak coming in third. In Flight 2 the winner was Lavone Mensink, with Rosemary King coming in second, and Kathleen Mlynarczyki coming in third. In Flight 3 the winner was Fran Kleinsteuber, with Celeste Dorsey coming in second, and Cheryl Kern coming in third.
On March 28 the game was Alternate Shot, and the winners in Flight 1 were Wanda Chihak and Beverly Jur, blind and Rosemary King in second, and Rosie Raisanen and Jan Carter in third. In Flight 2 the winners were Lavonne Mensink and Fran Kleinsteuber, with Linda Stimart and Lynn Turnquist coming in second, and Anne Michals and Arlene Fletcher coming in third.
