If you don’t like something, change it.
If you can’t change it, change your attitude. —Maya Angelou
When I first read this earlier yesterday, I thought it a simple statement. Today I believe it to be a profoundly true statement I need to pay attention to.
The first part I understand and agree with. But it’s that changing my attitude about things I can’t change which causes me to ponder a bit.
I don’t think it means, since you can’t change it, just simply accept it. Might it more likely mean, change how you approach it, how you let it handle you, and what you choose to do with it?
Wondering if I have some attitude issues I need to be about changing.
