Unity Church of Sun Lakes is a New Thought Community. We celebrate Peace, Love, Light, Joy, and Healing. Editor of Unity magazine, Katy Koontz, talks with author Pam Grout about her life and her last book, E-Squared. The book describes nine New Thought principles, with a little quantum physics thrown in and simple experiments for readers to try out. She wants the readers to have fun with the process while learning about divine guidance, surrender, and the value of “lightening up.” With her background in Unity, A Course in Miracles, and attending meetings with the Metaphysical Society, she discovered a bigger, more expansive spirituality than she had learned as a Methodist preacher’s daughter. Pam has a unique and delightful sense of humor where her relationship with God is concerned. God, the Dude, is the loving, abundant, totally hip force in the universe. She appointed God the CEO of her career as a freelance writer, as she felt she needed outside help. She says she just kept throwing her doubts and fears into God’s “in-box” and asking God to lead the way. The more she turned it over, the clearer her path became.
Working with these principles doesn’t mean our lives become perfect, but it gives us tools to deal with the bad times.
Not wanting to say what is “good” or “bad,” she went on to say that her 25-year-old daughter Tasman died suddenly and unexpectedly from a cerebral aneurysm. Pam said that if she limited herself to the cultural story about death, her life would be all but over. Instead, she and a friend from her college days went to India and started the Taz Grout 222 Foundation. Many miracles transpired, more than I have room for here. Pam believes her daughter orchestrated the whole thing.
The first 222 Foundation grant, awarded on Feb. 22, 2019, went to help women who survived acid attacks and came out of hiding to run a cafe’ that offers free food, coffee, and tea. The grant went to help them move to a bigger place in Agra.
Pam Grout looks at life with gratitude. It’s a simple and effective way to join with God. How lucky we are to be experiencing this glorious thing called life!
