Remember the days of yesteryear when “cruising” was a popular activity in every small town across America? Young people and college students would show off their cars as they circled the main “drag” of their hometown. The cars would be freshly waxed and buffed, the upholstery would be thoroughly cleaned and shined, and the radios would be tuned to their favorite station, playing the popular tunes of their time.
The movie Grease wasn’t too far from the actual antics of teen angst in those days. Well, you don’t have to relive the angst. Just come join the fun at the Fall Car Show, sponsored by the Sheriff’s Posse and First Baptist Church Sun Lakes. Thankfully, the preservers of classic cars are often biting at the bullet to show off their gems on wheels. Be they coups, trucks, convertibles, or sports cars, it should prove to be a welcome distraction after all the social noise of an election year.
Let’s have some fun! Join us on Nov. 16 at First Baptist Church Sun Lakes, 9535 E. Riggs Road. For more information or to enter a car, visit www.fbcsl.org.
