The Christmas season calendar at First Baptist Church Sun Lakes (FBCSL) will once again prove to be a month-long celebration of joy over the Savior, Who was sent to earth for all mankind (read Luke 2). Here’s the lineup:
Saturday, Nov. 30, at 4 p.m.: Luke Yates, formerly with The Legacy Project (three Emmys), will present a Christmas-themed concert. Please come prepared to give a love offering. Cookies and punch will be enjoyed afterward.
Monday and Tuesday, Dec. 2 and 3, at 10 a.m.: The hanging of the greens (we’re not hanging people whose last names are Green)! If you enjoy decorating for Christmas, this is the time to join us! We might enjoy some virgin Christmas wassail!
Wednesday, Dec. 11, at 4 p.m.: The Christmas Song Sing-along! Last year we enjoyed a couple of ensembles that made the occasion happy and enjoyable. Guess what—they are returning to help us in this musical celebration of Christmas. If you enjoy the old Christmas songs from yesteryear, come join us for a memorable time that will surely knit hearts together. We’re ready to jingle some bells!
Saturday, Dec. 14, at 4 p.m.: The flute and guitar duo named SoSco will present a lovely Christmas instrumental concert. This attractive duo performs across the Phoenix Metro Valley and is highly recommended by those who have had the privilege of hearing them play. Want to get away from the madness of the Christmas rush and loud music? This is the concert that will calm your nerves and instill the peace of the Christmas season.
Sunday, Dec. 15, at 10 a.m.: The FBCSL choir will present a Christmas musical, The Sounding Joy, created by Dale Mathews and Marty Hamby. This musical offering will take place during our regular worship time. Please come join in the celebration of Christ’s birth.
Wednesday, Dec. 18, at 4 p.m.: FBCSL is hosting a Christmas Dinner, catered by The Buttered Biscuit, just across the street from FBCSL. RSVPs are necessary for accurate head counts in the meal preparation. The cost is $25.
Tuesday, Dec. 24, at 4 p.m.: The annual FBCSL Christmas Candlelight and Lord’s Supper Service will be experienced once again. Last year was a full house, so be sure to arrive early.
There you have it—an entire month of celebrating the birth of the Christ child! Join us and let the spirit of Christmas be ignited in your heart this December.
