Hopefully, everyone had a wonderfully relaxing summer this year and were not bothered too much by the scorching hot temperatures some experienced here in the Valley. As we head into fall, we find many of our friends and neighbors who left for cooler temperatures are making their way back to Arizona once again.
It’s going to get very busy with our league as everyone starts returning to Sun Lakes again to join the hardy folks who stayed here during the summer heat. Know that several officers and committee members have worked through the summer to hit the road running with some changes coming this fall.
The first day of play after overseeding was on Oct. 23 and was a shotgun start withcart path only. Our new website is ironwoodlady9ers.azgolf.org, and this will be used for renewal of registrations, as well as signing up for new applications. AGA requirements this year are that paper registrations are no longer valid, so we must register online. New members, to register, have to click on New Member and then be prepared to attend an orientation session.
On Nov. 6 we will have a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. (with a circle meeting at 8:15 a.m.), with a general meeting following the play on the patio. We are also having a Membership Drive Day on Nov. 13. Members sign up on Chelsea and then call the Add/Cancel line to add a guest.
We have lots of talented ladies with all kinds of levels of expertise/ability, but we always have lots of fun. Come and give our league a try. You won’t be disappointed.
