Jim Wegman, Publicity
As we close out the 2024 year, I will take a minute to thank the outgoing board and welcome in the new 2025-26 board: President Jerry Richards, VP Jack Baur, VP Sam Whitlock, Secretary David Mork, and Treasurer Bob Deken. Our league depends on volunteers to keep the games going and the league running smoothly. These members have stepped up to do the job. Then there are the game managers who make up the weekly pairings. Not an easy job, but they do it well.
Membership. We have three new members: Dennis McMullen, Kevin Lauesen, and Vern Evans. Welcome to the Niners, guys.
Gentlemen, we have lost another former member. Charles Bunce passed away in early December. “Charley” joined the Niners in 2004, made many friends, and volunteered for various committees. In 2005 Charley was elected vice president, and in 2007 he was elected president of the Niners and he updated the computerization of the Niners’ operations. Charley was always active in community projects and later served as an HOA board member and later president of the board. To daughter Karen and the members of the Bunce family, we offer our sincere condolences on Charles’ passing.

What’s That Rule? 10.1a fairly striking the ball. Only momentary contact between the club and the ball is allowed. This rule primarily concerns putting where the ball is “raked,” dragged, or scooped to the hole. Violation entails a two-stroke penalty.
