The Sun Lakes Lady Niners love playing golf. Even the more chilly temperatures of December didn’t deter the ladies from taking to the links. The Lady Niners golf at Sun Lakes Country Club on Tuesday mornings, usually at 9 a.m., but tee-off times change to 10 a.m. during the colder months of December and January. The Sun Lakes Lady Niners is a fun group of ladies of all ages and golfing abilities, from beginners to more advanced levels of play. A different game is played each week based on handicap to provide everyone a chance to win. There were five days of league play during the month of December.
The monthly meeting was held on Dec. 10 after golfing. President Linda Stimart reminded members that AGA dues of $40 and Lady Niners dues of $25 need to be paid by Jan. 1. The need to play ready golf was emphasized, as we have only two hours to complete nine holes. A discussion ensued about members participating in the Food Drive sponsored by Sun Lakes. Suggestions were given regarding items to donate. The Lady Niners hosted a tournament with the SunBird Lady Niners on Feb. 25. The Oakwood Lady Niners have invited the SL Lady Niners to send seven golfers and two alternates to play in a tournament on Tuesday, March 11. The next monthly meeting was held on Jan. 14, and a Welcome Back Brunch to honor the return of snowbird members was held on Jan. 13, hosted by Jan Sykes.
