The Ironwood Lady Niners (IWLN) are nearing the end of their spring season, with many of our members returning to summer homes. We had our Flamingo Fairway Classic Luncheon and Awards on April 9 at Oakwood Poolside.
The 2026 State Medallion qualifying rounds were played this past January and February at Ironwood. Two members of IWLN will represent our club at the 2026 State Medallion Tournament. Denise Weibel was Low Gross winner, and Maggie McLeod was Low Net winner. These two ladies will represent IWLN next January in the State Medallion Tournament to be held at Oakwood.
The Most Improved Player award went to Renee Touchstone. Renee has worked hard to improve her golf game and is being recognized for her efforts. Congratulations, Renee!
The newest members to our Diva Club (80+) were also recognized at the awards luncheon. Ginger Wilson, Judy Alldredge, Nancy Fayfar, Betty Pasek, and Barb Frank were included in this group. These members are recognized for their continuous commitment (year after year) to fun and enjoyment with the game of golf.
Many of our members leave this time of the year to head back to summer homes and a little relief from our summer heat. Ironwood Lady Niners do have some ladies who enjoy the game here in Arizona year round. IWLN will start “summer” play on May 21, and all IWLN members are invited to join in the summer fun. At this time of the year, we have sign-up sheets for tee times on Wednesday mornings in the Ironwood clubhouse.
We hope all our members have a great summer of golf. We will start fall play in early October, shortly after the overseed is completed.
Stay cool!
