The Sun Lakes Sew-N-Sews and its Children Charity Committee, along with volunteers from the Rotary Club, came together in April to assemble 150 colorful Easter baskets. These baskets were sewn and made by the Children Charity Committee members. The SL Rotary Club also provided funding for fabric, supplies, and candy goodies. The Easter baskets created were just so fun and colorful, with each one having its own unique theme. On April 3, 110 baskets were given to Faith Bone, Director of Strategic Development for Amanda Hope Rainbow Angels Foundation. The foundation shared and delivered the extra baskets to Phoenix Children’s Hospital to brighten the day of some very brave young warriors undergoing treatment. On April 4 the remaining 40 Easter baskets were delivered to Child Crisis Arizona.
Amanda Hope Rainbow Angels is a nonprofit organization, a 501(c)(3) tax-deductible, tax-exempt organization, founded in 2012. They offer free programs for families with a child battling a life-threatening illness. Child Crisis Arizona provides emergency shelter, foster care, adoption, counseling, early education, and parenting support services to Arizona’s most vulnerable children, youth, and families.
Many thanks and appreciation go out to the Sun Lakes Rotary Club and everyone who had a hand in the creation of these wonderful baskets. Without all the lovely volunteers, the committee would not have been able to accomplish all that was needed to get these 150 beautiful Easter baskets to deserving children.
