Sue Boucher
Reggie Wegman
On May 13, on hole 3 of the Sonoran golf course, Sue Boucher had a hole-in-one. How thrilling to be with her on that memorable day. She used a 9 iron for the 85-yard shot onto the green, with that little white ball rolling right into the hole. We all thought, “Wow, did that ball go in the cup?” After everyone hit up, Sue ran to the green to see her first hole-in-one. Her reaction was emphatically, “Yes, it’s in the hole!” Our foursome was thrilled for her, and out came the cameras to document this fantastic shot!
Sue has lived here for more than five years. It didn’t take long for her to join the Oakwood Lady Niners Golf Association and volunteer to be social chair. She is currently vice president for the league. Sue received $100 for her achievement. Congratulations to her. She is our league’s first official hole-in-one winner. Joyce Parker had our first hole-in-one, but it was before she became a league member. But she still deserves the recognition.
Many of you are in other parts of the country and keep up by reading the Splash online. We hope you are all doing well and are enjoying the cooler temps.
And just a reminder to brave gals playing in the summer: Bring your drinks and cooling towels to the course. Remember to drink at every hole at least, and remind your partner to do the same. Bring along an extra bottle of frozen water just in case.
Start thinking about the fall when the league will be looking to recruit new officers. The league doesn’t run itself, and by volunteering, you get to meet new friends and keep a great league moving forward.
