Sheryl Keeme
Neighbors Who Care relies on marketing and promotion to alert the community about the many services our volunteers offer for those in need, as well as to educate the community on the benefits of volunteering, not to mention the flexibility in helping out. This summer, we are looking for a marketing and social media assistant potentially interested in growing with the position.
Training will be provided around the Neighbors Who Care marketing palette of colors for all our media, the tone of the content and articles we offer, and the systems we use to collaborate and share and approve posts, newsletters, and printed pieces. This is a contracted position. Hours are negotiable, but it will require a minimum of 30 hours monthly. While this position is housed mostly remotely, attendance at marketing meetings and other planning meetings may be needed.
Qualified applicants should possess experience with the following skills:
• Create visually compelling marketing materials that communicate our brand and mission for social media, email marketing, eBooks, print materials, and websites
• Proficient in Canva and Adobe InDesign
• Strong working knowledge of WordPress, including experience with visual page builders (e.g., Divi, Elementor)
• Write engaging marketing copy and blog posts that support storytelling, reflect our brand voice, and inspire action—whether it’s gaining volunteers, attracting donors, or building community support
• Solid understanding of social media platforms, trends, and content best practices
• Manage and post content across multiple platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Nextdoor, Google, etc.)
• Photograph events, volunteers, clients, and other subjects for use in digital and print content
• Produce creative videos that effectively tell our story and support campaigns
Hourly contractor rate: negotiable
