Sew-N-Sews News

The summer months are keeping members of the Sew-N-Sews groups busy making beautiful craft items. During June and July, several fun classes were held and were well attended.

A Jelly Roll Rug class was led by Sheilah Buscaglia on June 27, with some pretty rugs being made from just 2-1/2-inch fabric strips. Découpage plates were created when Eileen Turner taught how easy this is to do.

The remainder of the month had members busy making a stained glass square hanging, folding box, and fall applique table runner. In August, we have classes in making a beautiful Christmas pillow applique, a card holder, and a unique fabric sphere ornament. You can even learn how to crochet on Aug. 25. So many activities to keep cool inside while making nice items for your decorative home. As you can see, we have great fun with our different Sew-N-Sews ladies.

Our meetings will start again next month on Sept. 10 at 1 p.m. Be sure to join us as a guest and see how easy it is to become a member and have fun.

Bring your desire to connect—there’s always room at the table. Sew-Sews meets the second Wednesday of each month, September through May, in the Navajo Room at Sun Lakes Country Club, 25601 E. Sun Lakes Blvd., in Sun Lakes. Meetings begin at 1 p.m. Sew-N-Sews can be reached by emailing them at sewnsews1@gmail.com, or you can come to a meeting.
