Niners October Results

Jim Wegman, Publicity

Autumn is finally here, with shorter days, longer nights, and a hint of the holidays right around the corner.

As you know, we recently lost one of the longtime members of the Niners. Bob Deken passed on Sept. 28. There was a service for Bob at Sun Lakes Methodist Church on Nov 8.

There was no golf on Oct. 23, Oct. 30, and Nov. 6, as all Oakwood courses were closed for overseeding. Nov. 13 was cart path only.

This is the time of the year when the board begins setting a budget for the coming year. The good news is that the membership dues will remain the same for 2026: $110. So, do our new treasurer Mike Crewdson a big favor and get those checks in early. And if you have decided to give up your Niners membership, please let the president or the treasurer know as soon as possible. This will allow us to accommodate guys on our waiting list.

Chits: Check those chits and be ready to shop. Your 2025 chits must be spent by Dec. 31, 2025, or they will be lost. Chits can be spent in the course Pro Shops or in the Ironwood or Oakwood restaurants.

Gentlemen, the pictures that accompany this article are the current board of officers. They are all volunteers and give their time and energy to make this league run smoothly week after week. You may want to tip your golf cap to these guys for all their hard work.
