Welcome back to all our members near and far, and welcome to our new members. We held our Fall Scramble and lunch on Nov. 4. Our ladies were asked to wear their favorite team shirt or hat as a way of welcoming the fall and winter sports season. We played a best ball step aside scramble with the cart-path-only rule in effect. My team lucked out, because a member of our foursome, Roz Pederson, used her push cart and happily picked up all our balls not selected for play! Thanks, Roz! It’s great to be young!

We had a hearty lunch of baked potatoes with all the trimmings: chicken, beef, chili, bacon, cheese, salsa, etc.! Dessert was a delicious pumpkin spice football cookie packaged and produced by Tara Bradford. We had a tie for first place: Linda Grendahl, Kat Wilmer, and Sharon Wilson and Mary Nelson, Anna Cain, and Dolores Mahaffey. The two three-person teams played fabulous golf! Congratulations, ladies!

Our president Naomi Bryson introduced the slate of officers for 2026: President Mary Nelson, Vice President Patti Hegenbarth, Secretary Roz Pederson, and Treasurer Carol Healy. We voted “yes” to the wonderful candidates, and our president asked members to please volunteer for a job to keep our club running smoothly!

Our next special event was the Men’s and Women’s Challenge on Nov. 18. The Palo Verde Men’s Club played against our PVLGA for the honored title of best club! We enjoyed pizza and drinks afterwards on the patio. Dec. 9 will be our holiday scramble and luncheon. Our officers will be sworn in for 2026! So, get your game in shape, and let’s have a fun and productive new season!
