The CMGA is a men’s golf league for residents of Cottonwood Palo Verde and those residents of Sun Lakes and Oakwood/Ironwood who pay the appropriate green’s fees established by the Cottonwood HOA. CMGA welcomes new members and invites men in the community who are not currently members to join the association. Throughout the year, the association holds a number of major tournaments, including a Member-Guest, Member-Member, Club Championship, Presidents Club, Ace of Aces, and Ryder Cup.
Saturday is the official men’s tournament day, and members play a variety of events, including team and individual games. Entry fees for the day cover the weekly prize fund. All other costs related to event play are on a “pay as you go” basis. Dues for membership in the association include each member’s fee to establish a USGA handicap and to defray other costs such as patio parties, tournament support, and membership awards. The benefits associated with membership include: 1) the fun of participating in competitive, organized golfing events; 2) the opportunity to play and interact with fellow golfers from the Sun Lakes community; and 3) the chance to work with others to promote and advance the golfing experience for men of all proficiency levels.
