The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program will be available starting Feb. 1, 2026, at the Sun Lakes location on Riggs and Alma School Roads, 25105 S. Alma School Road. Household income should be less than $69,000 total to qualify for the service.
This year we will be preparing taxes on both Monday and Wednesday mornings from 9 a.m. to noon.
Monday will be for walk-ins (no appointments) and also for people who prefer to drop off their return information and pick up their completed returns on the following Monday. Walk-ins/drop-offs are accepted between 9 a.m. and noon.
Wednesday tax preparation will be by appointment only. This year, appointments will only be made online. There will be no in-person registration at the HOA office for appointments. The appointments can be made at www.prepareandempower.org/appointment starting on or about Dec. 23. Appointments can also be made by calling 480-834-2122 after Jan. 5.
The white envelopes containing the yellow information sheet will be available at the HOA office starting mid-January for those interested in picking one up prior to their appointment.
