Just as this nature-inspired oil painting by DAC member Bill Samborski brings a smile to our faces, so does the DAC bring smiles, comfort, and joy to its members.
Sue Sindelar
The Desert Artists Club (DAC) welcomes all artists who live in Sun Lakes to join our diverse and fun group. The DAC provides a welcoming space for visual artists to come together and create in an inspiring and supportive environment. We continue to grow in the development of our individual skills and in our friendships within our club.
Our club meets weekly year round and is open to those artists within the three HOAs of Sun Lakes. We meet in the Ceramics Room (A-8) in Cottonwood from 3 to 6 p.m. each Tuesday. This corner room with lots of light is opposite the library in the courtyard and across from the Golf Pro Shop on Robson Boulevard.
We are a casual club and have no dues or regular meetings. We do have occasional social gatherings and a Share Your Art time where we bring some of our artworks to display. Our artists paint and work in many mediums: oil, watercolor, acrylic, pen and ink, charcoal, colored pencils, and mixed media, to name a few. Our artist members are diverse, with years of experience and those just beginning. All are welcome, so come, join us, be inspired, and have fun.
If you are new to Sun Lakes or a longtime resident who is thinking of getting back to creating what gives you joy, stop by any Tuesday afternoon (the best time is 3:30 to 4:30 p.m.) and check out our members and their art. Feel free to ask questions or just look and see what we are creating. Members will be happy to answer any of your questions. Come and see if this group might work for you. We are fortunate to have a club for artists right here in Sun Lakes. No need to drive to faraway places to create, learn new skills, or be with other like-minded folks who appreciate the process of expressing beauty or whimsy, together.
