The holidays are here and gone. You have opened all the packages, checked out the new golf clubs, new balls, and those cool golf clothes. Well, it is time to look ahead to the new year and get back to serious golf. By serious golf, I mean the tournaments: Bill Slattery and the Club Championship.
Membership. Late in December we signed up a new member. Welcome Greg Franks, our newest member.
Winter officially began on Dec. 21, and that always involves early morning frost delays. If you are not sure about the league starting time or if play will be delayed, check with the Pro Shop by calling 480-895-1159 and then press 6. There is a recorded message letting you know about any changes.
The repair of the golf course is everyone’s responsibility. It takes only a few seconds to repair pitch marks on the greens and about a minute to repair divots in the fairways. Green range ball buckets are hanging around. Please return them.

We have always depended on volunteer members to do the various tasks that keep the league running smoothly; primarily, the game manager positions. VP Jack Baur has two new volunteer game managers: Jerry Pederson and Bob Gresen. A tip of the old golf cap to these guys. Many hands make tasks lighter, and with two new game managers, Alan Aken can take a much-needed break. Thanks for filling in, Alan.
