Cheers Trip Opportunities: The demand for travel is reported to be strong, with many itineraries fully booked for 2026 and even some for 2027. European river cruises remain popular, according to AmaWaterways. You are probably looking at 2027 for their African Safari or Mekong Delta trips. Closer to home, Free Spirit Vacations has a multitude of travel ideas. Examples of these include:

Artsy Arizona: Tubac and Bisbee: Feb. 5-7, 2026 (Thursday-Saturday)

Price: $685.00 per person double/$950 per person single

Discover the quirky, artistic towns of Tubac and Bisbee, Ariz. Browse the works of more than 200 artists in Tubac at the state’s longest-running art festival. In Bisbee, go underground on the Copper Queen Mine Tour and stroll through the gallery-lined streets of this quirky town. Discover Ted DeGrazia originals at DeGrazia Gallery in the Sun Museum. Try your hand with Lady Luck at Desert Diamond Hotel and Casino, and sip on wines from one of Southern Arizona’s premier wineries!

Million Dollar Quartet—Phoenix Theater Company, Sunday, March 8, 2026. Dinner at the Stockyard Restaurant is included.

Monthly Wine Tasting: On the second Wednesday of each month, a club member hosts a wine tasting and potluck dinner in their home. Advance registration is required, and a $10 fee per person is collected to provide funds for the purchase of a variety of wine, selected and presented by the host/hostess. Anne Brunick serves as the activity leader, supporting and assisting monthly hosts.

Title I School Donations: Cheers provides charitable support to needy students at Hamilton High School and all Title I schools in Chandler. Voluntary donations of food, household items, and/or cash are provided monthly. If preferred, one may write a check directly to a school of your choice, specifying which activity you wish your contribution to be credited to. These donations are coordinated by Sally Wegryn, who can be reached at 203-470-0733, in collaboration with Hamilton Social Work staff, and are greatly appreciated in our community.

Dine Out: Dine Out meets on the fourth Wednesday of each month. Members dine out together at a selected restaurant in the community. This activity, coordinated by Robert Russo, provides an opportunity to try new restaurants and perhaps new types of cuisine in the company of friends. Advance registration is required to confirm restaurant reservations. The February Dine Out will be at Pesto’s Italian Kitchen in Chandler. Bob welcomes your recommendations for restaurants for us to visit.

Book Club: This group meets every third Tuesday at the Oakwood Library.
