Spring is in the air, and what better way to enjoy our spectacular weather than by spending the day cruising around in your golf cart participating in the Fun Lakers’ annual Golf Cart Rally? It’s always a blast and probably our most popular event. This year it’s a Hawaiian theme. Get in the Aloha Spirit! Dress in your most colorful Hawaiian shirts, leis, hats, or whatever feels most like life in “the islands,” and get your ticket right away at www.funlakers.org.
Mark your calendars. The date is Saturday, March 28. This year we will begin at Sisk Park in Palo Verde. Each team (one golf cart) will be given a route to follow and a list of clues. It’s like a scavenger hunt, but instead of searching for an object, each team must match the clues on their list to addresses on their route map. After a little fun dodging your fellow competitors in the streets, we will congregate at the Palo Verde Country Club for a delicious Hawaiian buffet. The winners will be determined, and the top three will be awarded prizes.
Those of you who took part in the “Stick” Horse Races in February know how great these Fun Lakers events can be. They always provide an ideal venue to meet your new best friend and to renew old friendships. As usual, members get a discount on ticket prices, as well as advance notice of availability.
The current directors on the board are actively seeking people to serve on next year’s board. It’s a great way to get involved and to get to know people. Let any board member know of your interest, or indicate your willingness to volunteer on our website at www.funlakers.org.
