Congratulations to our 2025 Most Improved Golfer, Judi Walker! During January, we also crowned our Best of the Best Winners: Peggy Cooper (Low Gross 72) and Judi Walker (Low Net 60). Our Best of the Best Tournament recognizes individuals who recorded the lowest scores for weekly league play throughout the prior year. Our 2025 State Medallion representatives Dari Akin and Julie Clausen participated in the Jan. 9-11 tournament held at Oakwood, finishing fourth in their flight! Congratulations to all!
ILGA’s Travel Team concluded a successful East Valley Travel Team season by taking home the traveling trophy at the final event held Feb. 11 at SunBird. Final scores totaled: Ironwood 229.0, Palo Verde 223.0, Sun Lakes 218.5, SunBird 193.5. Travel Team participants were Susan Barham, Janet Barnett, Karen Bustillo, Julie Clausen, Peggy Cooper, Judy Darnell, Roselyn Hoiby, Lynda Jones, Judy Kirschenbaum, Sylvia Lyon, Dianne McCauley, Amanda McLoone, Lynne Shaw, Sue Olson, Vickie Scott, and Judy Wegener.
Our 2026 Club Championship took place on Jan 29, Feb. 5, and Feb. 12. This three-week tournament determines our overall low gross champion as well as individual flight winners. We recognized our Club Championship winners, as well as our Most Improved Golfer, Best of the Best Winners, and State Medallion Participants at our Awards Luncheon on Feb. 19.
