Chance Smith
Earlier this month, Mark Thesing (Director of Golf) shared an update that during the month of January, Oakwood had 7,941 rounds played and Ironwood had 5,403 rounds played. That is an average of 431 rounds played per day! And the impressive part is how well the courses still hold their shape and stay beautiful under that kind of traffic. That doesn’t happen by accident. It happens because our members care: fixing ball marks, putting sand in divots, following the cart signs, and treating the course like it’s yours (because it is). Thank you for doing the small things every round that add up to a course we can all be proud of. And a big thanks to the grounds crew!
March Events:
• Oakwood Shootout. This is a low net qualifier round scheduled for March 5. Morning and afternoon tee times will be offered. Look for your Golf Genius invitation.
• MOGA Club Championship is a three-day event starting with RD1 on March 12, RD2 on March 19, and Final RD on March 26.
• Lads & Lassies on March 31
Local Rules: (Let’s get smarter with Jerry)
Out of Bounds is defined by the homeowner’s property line, white stakes, any vehicular road, or permanent fencing. A ball crossing a road but coming to rest on another part of the golf course is still out of bounds.
