The Scandinavian Folkdancers of Phoenix Coming to Sun Lakes March 15!

Everyone in Sun Lakes is invited to attend an exciting and fun Scandinavian gathering on March 15. It will be held in the Saguaro Room of Cottonwood Country Club. Doors open at 11:30 a.m., with a light lunch served at noon.

At the February meeting of the Sun Lakes Scandinavian Club, a collection of textiles, weavings, and wood carvings and more of the folk art of Norway was presented by Sylvia Munsen, winner of the Medal of St. Olaf from King H.M. Harold of Norway.

In March The Scandinavian Folkdancers of Phoenix are coming! They will be appearing in traditional attire and performing traditional Swedish and Nordic dances that promote their Nordic heritage. This engaging group was started by a group of the VASA Order of America in the early 1970s. A wide range of historical folk dances handed down for generations will be performed. This is an entertaining program. It will be enjoyable! Plan to attend.

Make your reservations before March 10 by taking or sending a check for $18 per person made out to the Scandinavian Club to Ron Deraas at 412 W. Champagne, Sun Lakes, AZ 85248. For further information, email our president Don Hofstrand at dhof0613@gmail.com.
