For our March general meeting, we’ll be back in our usual location at the Navajo Room on March 11 at 1 p.m. Be sure to join us as our guest speaker will be Loretta Moyer who will be bringing us her applique trunk show! It is sure to be fabulous.
Speaking of fabulous, our February guest was Sharon Bigelow, who presented her wonderful wool felting creations and explained how simple it can be to wool felt! She will be teaching a class or two for us to learn as well.
Raffle News
A 1921 Singer Featherweight (Model 221) sewing machine was generously donated by Marcia Moore. We will continue to host the raffle for the machine through March. Tickets are $5 each or 5 for $20. Drawing will be held at the end of the March meeting. Contact the Sew N Sews if you wish to participate and we will get you a ticket!
The nominating committee continues to look for candidates for our open positions of Secretary, Vice President, and President, each a two-year term. Elections will be held in April along with our SIG group the Garment Gustos, which will present their fashion show of their creative creations.
Hats off to our Children’s Charity Group for sewing and assembling 100+ Easter baskets to give to our charity of Amanda Hope Rainbow Angels Foundation for Easter. A big thanks for those who met to help sew and assemble all these beautiful baskets. The foundation will share and deliver to the Phoenix Children’s Hospital.
As always, Sew-N-Sews meets the second Wednesday of each month, September to May, in the Navajo room, Sun Lakes Country Club, 25601 E. Sun Lakes Blvd. in Sun Lakes.
