February and March were busy months for the Sun Lakes Bocce Club. The Club Tournament was played on Feb. 22, and the winners were as follows:
1st Place: Sherry Parmon, Jeff Blankenship, Tom Sackett, Monty Bonello
2nd Place: Roy Parfitt, Ralph Costa, Kerry Murdock, Melissa Hance
3rd Place: Linda Parfitt, Don DeProfio, Darby Greenway, Nancy Vanderslice
The Fun with Friends Tournament was held on March 26, and the theme was “Hawaii Bocce.” Players received extra points for wearing, sharing, or displaying anything Hawaiian, and, boy, they did! Pictures will be posted in next month’s article.
The club is also going over to Trilogy on April 4, for a friendly competition tournament with the Trilogy Bocce Ball Club. Play starts at 9 a.m. Results of that tournament will also be shared with everyone in next month’s article.
Our second session regular play ended on March 29 with an awards luncheon at Sisk Park. Our members filled the tables in the ramada with fabulous salads, side dishes, and desserts, which accompanied fried chicken supplied by the club. Divisional first, second, and third place winners were announced. The winners will be posted in next month’s article also.
It is hard to believe that our season is over and we have to wait until October to play competitively again.
