Message from the President

Jean Nelson

The Easter Bunny has come and gone and with it came a warm welcome to the first days of summer. In the bunny’s honor, the active lifestyle department and their volunteers provided a funfilled morning of games, prizes and an Easter parade. Many grandchildren were on site to hunt for the more than 5,000 candy-filled Easter eggs that were “hidden.”

With spring every golf club has found time for one more tournament, and the courses are busy as snowbirds are getting in a few final rounds before heading to their summer homes.

I want to take a moment to thank everyone for your well wishes regarding the newly formed board of directors. We have seven directors committed to continuing the work of past boards, with a focused eye on capital reserves, controlling spending, and meeting the challenge of bringing food and beverage finances under control. I was amazed at the 24 applications we received to fill the four vacated board positions. Thank you to the homeowners who stepped forward and to the four selected to serve oneyear terms to help keep our community moving forward. Congratulations as well to our two newly elected board members, Bob Kittle and Denise Orthen.

And finally, have you seen what’s happening at the pool? Cement! It’s exciting to watch the progress unfold, and yes, I’m happy to share that the project is on time and within budget.
