Grief is not a straight path. It is a journey filled with unexpected twists, turns, and obstacles. At times, it can feel overwhelming, and it may be difficult to see the light ahead.
Wherever you are on that journey, you are not alone.
Sun Lakes United Methodist Church is offering a grief support group, facilitated by licensed counselor, Mary Sievert. This is a non–denominational opportunity for encouragement, reflection, and connection. Participants are invited to share their experiences in a supportive environment or simply listen and learn from others who understand the complexities of grief.
One of the first and most important truths about grief is this: you are not “going crazy.” There is no right or wrong way to grieve. Each person’s experience is unique, and grief is not linear—it rises and falls in its own time. In community, we discover the gift of being seen, heard, and honored by others who truly “get it.”
The eight week group will meet on Tuesdays, 1:30 to 3 p.m. from May 5 to June 23, in Room 4 of the Education Building at Sun Lakes United Methodist Church, 9248 E. Riggs Rd., Sun Lakes. All are welcome. To register, please stop by or call the church office at 480–895-8766.
