The March meeting of the Sew–N–Sews found us back at the Navajo Room at Sun Lakes Country Club, with great attendance at hand. We are at 167 members!
Our presenter was Sun Lakes’ own Loretta Moyer who brought us her many raw edge applique quilts and wall hangings to share. She does fabulous work and is mainly self–taught. Her favorite pattern makers are Toni Whitney and McKenna Ryan but she creates her own flair to them.
The Fundraiser Singer 221 Featherweight Sewing Machine was a huge success. A winner was drawn and will have great pleasure sewing on this great machine. Thank you to everyone who participated in this fundraiser!
Hats off to our Children’s Charity Group for sewing and assembling nearly 150-plus Easter baskets to give to our charity of Amanda Hope Rainbow Angels Foundation and Jose’s Closet for Easter. Big thanks to those who met to help assemble all these beautiful baskets on March 23 and 24 to deliver them.
Our April program was presented by our own Garment Gals. A fashion show featuring garments that they fashioned showed this very talented group of ladies! Remaking and repurposing clothing is a creative way to zest up your wardrobe!
Our May 13 program has been changed to Demystifying Laura Heine and will be presented by a certified Laura Heine instructor.
