Do you know a dedicated volunteer, someone who devotes a great deal of time and energy to making Sun Lakes a better place in which to live?
Consider nominating that person for a Crystal Award. Anyone may nominate a member who lives in Sun Lakes Country Club, Cottonwood/Palo Verde, IronOaks, and Robson Reserve.
The Crystal Award program began in 2010 to recognize and honor those who make our community a better place to live. Each year a committee of previous awardees selects new honorees from each of the Sun Lakes communities. The honorees will be celebrated at the annual awards banquet held at Sun Lakes Country Club on Feb. 21.
The nominees may include people who have served their HOAs on the board or committees; people who have stepped up in service organizations like Neighbors Who Care, Rotary, Lions Club, Arizona Rangers, Citrus Pickers, and churches; people who have volunteered to educate and entertain us through organizations like New Adventures in Learning or the Sun Lakes Community Theater; and people who are leaders of organized community activities like fund raisers, golf leagues, tennis tournaments, card and game groups, travel and hiking groups, and various other clubs.
So, take a look around your community and remember someone who goes above and beyond to serve others, and then honor that person through your nomination. Online nomination forms will be available Oct. 1 on the three HOA websites. Paper nomination forms will be at the four community administrative offices. Nominations are due Dec. 2.
