DNS (Domain Name System): What Is It? How to Use It to Stay Safe?

Helen Seaton, PR Director

Join us Sept. 8 at 1 p.m. as we discuss DNS (Domain Name System); the phonebook of the Internet. We will address the following questions:

1. What exactly is DNS and what does it do?

2. If my DNS is set to my ISP does this mean the ISP can see whatever websites I go to?

3. What if I change the DNS to something else other than the ISP, will this make the ISP no longer able to see my activities and what website I have visited?

4. What is the best DNS to use that is privacy and anonymous based?

5. How do I change my DNS server on Windows?

We meet in the Cottonwood Country Club Computer Learning Center. The meeting will also be available on Zoom. Check out our calendar for our current events and updates at: computerbooters.org/calendar.
