The smaller group of Ironwood Lady Niners (IWLN) that enjoy summer golf have persevered through the heat. Summer golf is coming to an end with overseeding scheduled for early Oct. After overseeding is completed, IWLN will be back reserving golf for the first time on Oct. 21 using Chelsea to sign up for weekly golf. Remember, the first three weeks after overseeding will be “cart path only” so plan accordingly.
Summer golf had some great excitement. IWLN member Rosanna Nania had a “Hole–in–One” during her round of league play on June 17. Rosanna aced hole number six that morning. Congratulations to Rosanna!
Several IWLN members participated in the Pinewood Invitational on July 15. We had nine members from our IWLN league who participated this year in the tournament at Munds Park, Ariz. Some of our IWLN members also placed in the tournament. Sue Boucher played in the group that placed fifth, Jolynn Elliott played in a group that placed third and Robyn Moody’s group placed first! Congratulations to all the players. It was a great day of golf and we also enjoyed a little relief from the hot weather. We also want to thank Robyn and Steve Moody for hosting our group at their home both nights we were at Munds Park.
Fall golf is almost here. The IWLN general meeting will be held at 9 a.m. at Grill on the Green. Please plan to attend this meeting so we can elect new officers for 2027. League golf will follow at 10 a.m. that morning.
