It may stretch our imagination to think of a festive winter gala with the record-breaking temperatures we have endured this past summer. Perhaps thinking of snow-covered trees and snowmen along with the anticipation of the upcoming event will seem refreshing!
This year’s gala will once again be held in the Cottonwood Country Club Ballroom on Dec. 6. It will be a beautiful venue thanks to the talents of Jan Hawkes and the Friends of the Foundation. This year’s theme, “All That Glitters,” will definitely be a perfect way to start the holiday season. Imagine white bark trees with black glitter ornaments and a beautiful backdrop of snow-covered trees and of course, where there is snow, one must have snowmen! The elegance of the black and white theme and all the sparkling decorations will be a special evening to remember.
The dinner of strawberry balsamic salad, short ribs with demi glaze, pave potatoes, heirloom carrots along with brioche rolls and a delicious chocolate mousse with raspberry sauce and listening to the fabulous music of Thaddeus Rose will set the tone for a fun filled event.
As in previous years, we will have multiple gifts and amazing gift baskets for the silent auction. A fun addition to this year’s event will be a Wine Pull. Wines of a minimum value of $25 will be wrapped (it will be a fun surprise when you open your chosen wine bag) and sold for $20 to take home and enjoy.
Tickets are $70 per person and will go on sale Oct. 5 at slcommunityfoundation.com.
Get your friends and family together to enjoy an evening you won’t forget! Cheers to all!
