Kathy Skrei, Charlene Petragalo, and Bobbie Reed, founders of Crystal Cards
Ten years in the books!
Did you know Crystal Cards (CC) was created in 2016 by three women with a vision to repurpose greeting cards and donate the proceeds to charity? Charlene Petragalo, Kathy Skrei, and Bobbie Reed brainstormed and the result was CC and its volunteers remaking tens of thousands of cards and donating in excess of $135,000 to My Sister’s Place (MSP) in the past 10 years. MSP is a domestic violence center in the Chandler area. MSP uses these donated funds to supplement their needs to help local families adjust to their situations.
Cards can be dropped off at the Cottonwood Library, Oakwood Clubhouse, SunBird Library, Sun Lakes Country Club Library, Palo Verde Women’s Lounge, Ironwood Clubhouse, and Robson Reserve Lobby. Greeting cards are received from all over the country and CC volunteers clean them up and sell them for $1 each at monthly sales.
Please check out CC’s website: www.crystalcardproject.org for more information, including a schedule of sales and workshops, how to volunteer, and the home delivery option.
