Cottonwood Palo Verde: Message from the President

Jean Nelson

Our Arizona summer is coming to a close, and I’m sure I’m not alone in looking forward to welcoming our snowbird friends back to Sun Lakes. For those returning, you’ll find that we’ve been busy! The completion of our beautiful new pool is now in sight. We’ve also added new activities at the Cottonwood Bar and Grill—complete with free popcorn—and dance fever has taken over at the restaurant on Friday nights. Sisk Park has been beautifully restored, and Scott and his crew have been working hard to prepare our golf courses for the upcoming season.

Like many communities, Cottonwood Palo Verde is adapting to changing financial conditions. Rising costs, seasonal shifts in activity, and changes in facility usage all play a role in how we plan and manage our community’s finances. Your Board is taking a proactive, thoughtful approach by carefully reviewing our revenues and expenses to identify opportunities for improved efficiency and optimal resource management. We are being intentional with our spending to ensure every decision reflects the needs and priorities of our community.

This careful planning will also play a key role as we develop our 2027 budget. Our focus remains on maintaining the services and amenities our residents enjoy while making responsible financial decisions that support the long-term strength and stability of our community. By planning carefully, working together, and making thoughtful decisions today, we are confident that we will continue moving Cottonwood Palo Verde forward and preserving the high quality of life that makes our home so special.
