What Is the Real Key to a Good Night’s Sleep?

Carol Horowitz

You can try, but never in a million years could you ever guess the real answer to the question posed in LAFF’s original musical comedy … aptly titled …The Key to a Good Night’s Sleep.

While it’s true that the “key” to solving the dilemma of how to get a good night’s sleep may be different for each of us, for many of us it’s an ongoing concern! One thing for certain that all who attend the performance will agree upon is that this musical comedy will be unlike any other performance that you’ve ever seen.

This is one play that you’ll never fall asleep watching! In fact, you won’t want to miss a moment of this most unusual comedy set to music and performed by your friends and neighbors. The cast and crew will be having as much fun LAFFing while rehearsing and performing this zany production as our audiences will have watching it!

Don’t waste your time trying to guess what The Key to a Good Night’s Sleep is really about—you’ll just have to see it for yourself!

So, save the date. Mark your calendar for matinee performances, starting at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 23 or Sunday, Jan. 24, 2027. Held in the comfort of the Sun Lakes Chapel for All Faiths, located at 9240 E. Sun Lakes Blvd. N, in Sun Lakes, AZ, directly across from the Sun Lakes Country Club, the approximately 45-minute musical comedy will be followed by some vignettes that also address the same question!

At only $20 per ticket, this is a performance you won’t want to miss! After all, everyone in the world could benefit from discovering the real solution to The Key to a Good Night’s Sleep! Again, there’s no way in the world that you could ever guess this one!

In the meantime, keep LAFFing! For questions on how you can become a part of LAFF, please contact Carol Horowitz at horowitz@windstream.net or texting 760-271-2758.

LAFF Escapes the Heat with Summer Adventures in Prescott

Carol Horowitz

LAFF (Laughter and Friendship For All), is a unique interfaith creative and performing arts organization that uses the arts—art, music, dance, and drama—to share our love of the arts, learn new skills, develop new friendships, and share warm camaraderie. Since its inception three years ago, LAFF has lived up to the promise of its name, bringing LAFFter and the opportunity for creative adventures into our lives.

Escaping the summer heat, a group of LAFF members spent the summer relaxing and enjoying the cool breezes and magnificent mountains and lakes of Prescott.

Only a two-hour drive away, Prescott is a mile-high wonderland that offers something for everyone … whether gazing at the wonders of the unique rock formations, wandering through the high pines forest on trails that skirt serene lakes, or learning about Arizona’s rich and colorful Western history at Sharlott Hall Museum (which includes actual original buildings such as Arizona’s first governor’s mansion and other historical buildings dating back to the days when Prescott was the first capitol of Arizona. Whether relaxing under the stars at summerlong outdoor concerts on the grounds of Prescott’s Courthouse, or listening to cowboys share poetry at the local college, or driving past perfectly preserved Victorian houses that take you back in time and bring back old memories, or touring the many art galleries, summertime in Prescott was an incredible experience!

Wanting to share our adventures, LAFF members and guests were invited to meet for lunch at the Hassayampa Inn, an old brick hotel built in 1927 that’s on the national historical registry. The history of the hotel is as fascinating as its original interior which is filled with antiques, copper wall and ceiling panels, beautiful etched glass, and a working old-time original Otis elevator. Constructed as a town project with funds raised by many town folk who contributed $1 each and sold stock subscriptions, the hotel boasts legends of vivid ghost sightings! So, of course, this was the perfect place for LAFF members to gather and enjoy lunch.

After lunch, LAFF toured the incredible rock formations at The Dells at Watson Lake and the forested trails of the Highlands Nature Center at Lynx Lake in the Prescott National Forest. A LAFFing-good time was enjoyed by all!

As fall begins, LAFF has returned its focus toward providing opportunities for all within Sun Lakes to experience the performing arts. Look for LAFF’s musical comedy to be performed on Jan. 23 to 24, 2027, as part of the new Sun Lakes Celebration of the Creative Arts!
