With 111 classes underway, New Adventures in Learning is in full swing, and the building is bustling with excitement! We are thrilled to welcome lots of new members, new presenters, and returning members. The energy across campus is contagious as lifelong learners gather to explore fresh topics, share ideas, and connect with one another. If you haven’t signed up yet, it is still not too late to register for classes and join in on the fun!
On Thursday, Nov. 12 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Chandler-Gilbert Community College (CGCC) will bring The Empty Bowls Project to our Sun Lakes Center (25105 S. Alma School Rd, Sun Lakes, AZ 85248). This internationally recognized charitable effort helps combat hunger and food insecurity by selling handcrafted ceramic bowls to support local hunger relief.
Handmade ceramic bowls crafted with care by CGCC students and faculty will be available for purchase at $15 each. Every single dollar raised directly supports AZCEND, a local nonprofit organization providing essential resources, emergency services, and food assistance to families in need throughout our surrounding community.
“When you purchase a bowl, you’re not just buying art—you’re making a real difference,” an event organizer shared. “The Empty Bowls motto is simple: when you purchase a bowl, you help fill another.”
Each beautiful ceramic piece serves as both a functional item for your home and a daily reminder of community support and neighborly care.
Whether you are looking to expand your horizons in the classroom or make a direct impact in the community, there is a place for you here. If you have questions or want to register, call 480-857-5500 (Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.) or visit our office at 25105 S. Alma School Road (across from the Shell station; Monday to Thursday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.). You can also register via our website: newadventuresinlearning.org
