Jim Wegman, Publicity
May has arrived and with it some hot days and some strong winds. The big golf news around IronOaks is that the Lakes Renovation Project kicked off on Monday, May 11 with the earth movers shaving the tee boxes on hole nos. six and three. Heavy machines are being seen in other areas of the course and there are signs indicating that it is a work area and that access is limited to staff and construction workers only. Plainly stated, it means no golfers, no walkers or joggers, no homeowner golf carts, no sightseeing or unaccompanied inspections and no dog walking. This is a construction area with trenches and holes and should be avoided until the official reopening in late October. Progress reports will appear on the community web site periodically and may include photos of certain locations.
The Niners have moved to the Ironwood Golf course for our summer/fall season. The first play day at Ironwood was on the front nine on May 14.

Playing our Thursday game on the same 18 holes and at the same time as the Ironwood Ladies Golf Association has presented us with some challenges. We must observe a steady pace of play during the round and not fall behind the group in front. The Ironwood Clubhouse is a busy place on Thursday morning and it is expected that Niners golfers will arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the start time. It is recommended that our players show up early, check in with the desk staff and park in the right cart slot to avoid problems.
Remember, courtesy is contagious.
