The new season of league play for the Sun Lakes Lady Niners (SLLN) is well underway. The Sun Lakes Lady Niners is a fun group of ladies of all ages and golfing abilities, from beginners to more advanced levels of play. A different game is played each week based on handicap to provide everyone a chance to win. The Lady Niners golf at Sun Lakes Country Club on Tuesday mornings at 9 a.m. (10 a.m. during the colder months of December and January).
The first general meeting of the league was held on Nov. 14 at Mulligans. The first order of business was the introduction of the SLLN officers and committee chairs as follows: President Linda Stimart, Vice President Susan Geis, Secretary Arlene Fletcher, Treasurer Celeste Dorsey (Mary Bohren to succeed in January 2024), Sunshine Chair Liz Tollefsen, Social Chair Jan Sykes, and Shirt Order Chair Mary Bohren.
Other matters of business covered were a review of scorekeeping rules, variety of games, course rules and protocols for using the envelope system for weekly fee payment and special events, protocols for weekly pairings, and ordering logo shirts. The monthly meetings are held on the second Tuesday of the month at 10 a.m. with golf following at noon.
